![]() ![]() ![]() This is the solution ive been thinking about: I get the 12 ocarina of time replica, and if later down the line I want to increase my range I can get another double chamber ocarina thats not an LoZ replica and probably won’t cost as much. But I have had 6 years of sax/music experience and idk if that will make it easier for me. but this is also the first time im playing one. I guess in the long run a $60 difference won’t matter but in the case that I do face that problem, I can get the double ocarina just to be safe. I dont even know if I will face that problem, because idk how much time I will actually invest in this instrument. but thats a problem ill face after I actually learn how to play. I dont know if the range will limit me later on. 12-hole looks prettier and more like in-game version I just want the ocarina of time for the fun of it, so I can play and be happy The 12-hole is within by budget, but the 18-hole is way out of my price range. The 12-hole comes to $180, and the 18-hole comes to $240. Im worried that if I get the 12 hole, later down the line I’ll regret my decision and want the 18-hole (and I won’t be able to get it because then the 12-hole would be useless and a waste of money). but the thing is, I doubt I’m ever going to buy another one ever again, so the ocarina I choose is the one im gonna have for a good while. Ive also never played one before, and i'm not sure if starting on a double is a good idea (it looks complicated). And im not planning to religiously play the ocarina, it's just a little hobby I want to pick up because im a big fan of LoZ and I really love the sound of ocarinas. Im not sure if these small nuances is enough of a reason to buy a double chamber ocarina, because its a lot more expensive too. A lot of songs that I want to play arent within its range, and require 2 octaves to play (but like mostly its just 1 or 2 notes that are above range, and the rest is fine). ![]() I wanted to get the twelve hole ocarina, but its small range is making me hesitate. So ive had 6 years of woodwind experience (alto sax and soprano sax) and recently was looking into the songbird ocarina of time replicas. ![]()
